Making Music, the National Federation of Music Societies, is the umbrella organisation that represents and supports over 2,500 voluntary music groups throughout the UK, including choirs, orchestras, and music promoters.
We are looking for a treasurer to join our committee of 14 volunteers in the North East of England. The treasurer is a key member of our regional committee, keeping accounts, managing payments and compiling budgets. Being on the committee is also an opportunity to meet other people, have a say in the direction Making Music takes, and help voluntary music making in the region. In addition to specific roles, committee members may undertake more general tasks such as organising events and contributing to the regional newsletter or website.
Both inexperienced and experienced candidates are welcome. Support will be provided to help candidates who have not undertaken a role such as this before learn the relevant skills, and of course old hands are always welcome too!
The treasurer will be expected to attend 4 committee meetings a year around the North East region.
For more information and an informal chat contact David Crookes (davidcrookes@talktalk.net), Chairman of the North East committee, 0191 384 5515.
